The Church was beautifully decorated for the Easter day service and the service was well attended..
The buttery morning did not attract as many as usual, but it was the historic occasion of the Pope’s funeral so that may account for it.
Having said that we still raised £1,000+ so everyone who attended was very generous.
As usual thanks go to all who organised and manned the event. Well done all of you,
The Home Bake stall did well, as always and the bottle stall was popular. The raffle is always well supported and everyone seemed well pleased with their winnings.
St. Peter’s Church in Peterhead has recently been bustling with positive developments and heart warming events. As a cornerstone of our community, the church has always strived to foster a sense of togetherness and continuous improvement. This year has been no exception, bringing with it several exciting updates and successful gatherings that we are thrilled to share.
New Windows and Blinds
One of the most notable updates has been the installation of new windows on the north side of the church. These windows improve energy efficiency, contributing to a more comfortable environment for our congregation. To complement these new windows, we have also installed new blinds. These blinds offer a modern touch and provide the necessary shading, ensuring that our church remains a welcoming and serene place for worship and reflection.
Successful Buttery Morning in April and October
April and October witnessed a highly successful buttery morning, an event that brought together members of our community for a delightful morning of fellowship and delicious treats. The buttery morning served as both a fundraiser and a social gathering, helping to strengthen the bonds within our congregation. Attendees enjoyed freshly baked buttery, a traditional Scottish treat, along with other refreshments. The event’s success was a testament to the hard work and dedication of our volunteers, who ensured that everything ran smoothly. Each event raised over £!,000.
Inviting New Members
We are always eager to welcome new members into our church family. Whether you are new to the area or looking for a spiritual home, St. Peter’s offers a warm and inclusive environment where you can grow in faith and fellowship. Our doors are always open, and we encourage you to join us for our Sunday services and other events.
Conclusion
In conclusion, St. Peter’s in Peterhead is a beacon of positivity and progress, thanks to the unwavering support of our congregation and the dedication of our volunteers. The recent updates and successful events are just a glimpse of the vibrant life within our church. We look forward to continuing this journey of growth and community spirit, and we invite everyone to be a part of our story.
Bishop Ann visited us today (Sunday 15th December) and it was with great gladness we welcomed her and her curate, Jenny. She took the service for the 3rd Sunday in Advent and gave a very inspiring sermon.
Katie read the gospel and the sermon was very much based on the Gospel.
Richard was very pleased to be able to take the morning off and join the congregation for a change.
After the service a soup and sandwich lunch was provided by some of the ladies of the congregation with the addition of cakes and biscuits from Carol.
